Donut 5K

On December 22 more than 1700 runners, walkers, and canine pals braved the first snowfall of the season to compete in the 2017 Donut 5K. For the first time in Carmel Road Racing Group (owners of the race) history a CRRG race was closed two days before the event. The event was originally scheduled for 1500 athletes, but the last week of registration saw a huge surge in sign-ups. The start-finish line was in the CRC west parking lot.

Activities included 8000 Jack’s Donuts donut holes, beer garden, DJ, exhibitors’ hall, and doggie prizes. CRC had a demonstration court for pickleball.

Save-the-date: Sat, Dec 21, 2019 for next Donut 5K

CRC member Sandra Haugo braved the cold to conquer the course. Stacey Harmon, another CRC member, joined in the festivities to cheer on friends from Wisconsin and vowed to get a group to run in the 2019 race.  Helen Petersen is the CRC staff liaison to the Carmel Road Racing Group. Vanessa McGibbon works with the front desk staff to be sure members and racers are aware of the changes at the club on race day.
