Meet the Carmel Racquet Club Pros
Manager Greg Griffey: Greg graduated from Indiana State University in 1978 with a degree in education. He started as a pro at CRC the summer after graduation while looking for an elementary school teaching position. He loved the tennis so much that he stayed. Greg was the Head Pro for five years before becoming manager in 1989. He still coaches a few adult teams. Besides tennis, his favorite activities are fishing and platform tennis.
Head Pro Mark Woldmoe: Mark was born in Sherman, Texas and grew up in Muncie, IN. He graduated from Ball State University in 1984. He has served as junior Davis Cup Coach and USTA Sectional Endorser. He coaches juniors and adults. He says, "I have been fortunate to have some great young talent. I've coached several Indiana High School champions, including Rajeev Ram, Tom Murphy, Ashlee Davis, and Maria and Sophie Grabinski. Mark is married to wife Ronda, and they have two boys, Austin and Alex who attend Hamilton Southeastern. He loves to fish, and watch his sons play sports.

Ludo Aaron was born in  Hartlepool, England where his family still resides.  Ludo played college tennis at Butler prior to coming to Carmel Racquet Club.  Ludo is the head pro at Meridian Hills Country Club in the summer.  He is also the Girls High School tennis coach for the International School of Indianapolis.  Ludo is also an active player in our platform tennis league. Ludo coordinates our annual Florida Trip to the Colony Beach and Tennis Resort on Longboat Key.  Ludo and his wife Mary, have two children--Phoebe and Max, and live in Indianapolis.

Ryan Baxter was born and grew up in Durban, South Africa where his family still resides. He played rugby, cricket and tennis in high school. He played collegiate tennis at Ball State University where he was the 2000 Mid American Conference Player of the Year and was ranked in the top 100 in singles and top 25 in doubles in the nation. Ryan beat Leyton Hewitt when Hewitt was a 16 year old, a year before he turned pro. With a Bachelors Degree in Sports Administration, he is currently writing his thesis for an MS in Sport Psychology at Ball State, where he will graduate in May 2006. He has been the assistant men's tennis coach there since 2000. Ryan joined the Pro Staff part-time at CRC in 2001.  He loves to golf, fish, travel, and play Texas holdem poker. He got married in the summer of 2005. His wife's name is Carrie.

Susie Booker: Susie is a Park Tudor graduate and former tennis player, and joined CRC in January of 2008.  She played singles and doubles at Wheaton College in Illinois.  She has been teaching tennis since high school and her favorite tennis to play is mixed doubles.  She has coached high school tennis at Heritage Christian where she also taught English.  She is a certified fitness instructor and has taught fitness classes for ten years.  Susie is an avid water skier.  A highlight in her career was helping wheelchair athletes learn how to water ski.  Susie also has experience teaching tennis to wheelchair athletes.  The least known fact about her is that she is a professional story teller.  She has a Masters in Education in Reading and Story Arts.  Susie is married and has three children.

Tim Brady: Tim joined the Carmel Racquet Club staff as a teaching professional in July of 2008. Tim is originally from Northern Indiana and played High School tennis at Penn High School in Mishawaka, IN. He played college tennis at Ball State University in Muncie. Tim has gone to Nationals three times on a 5.0 Men's team in 2001, 2006, and 2007. He is married and has two boys ages 8 and 6. When Tim isn't teaching tennis he keeps busy with his boys and their sports of basketball, soccer, and, of course, tennis.

Cleve Brown: Cleve has been a teaching pro for 30 years, 22 of them at CRC. He was born in Dallas, TX, and started tennis at age 5, giving him 50 years of playing experience. He grew up in Kalamazoo, MI. He and wife Susan have two grown sons and a daughter. He attended Butler University from 1968-70 and played varsity tennis for them. Then as Men's and Women's Head Coach at Butler from 1989-91, he coached CRC pros Ludo Aaron and Slater Hogan.

Brian Cook: Brain originates from LaPort, IN. He has a degree in Architectural Design and  has  taught tennis for five years.  Before coming to CRC he taught at LaPort Park Recreation and coached at Kessling Middle School.  He is a USPTA Level 3 certified pro.  At CRC he works with women’s and men’s 3-3.5 players, runs the Men’s Competitive Doubles and the Junior Satellite I and II classes.  Brian plans 4.0 USTA Adult League tennis.  When he is not on the court, he like to play Madden Football on XBOX 360.  Brian is married to Abby and they have two beagles (Buddy and Joy).

Jeff Eaton: Jeff was born in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated with a BS in Education from Indiana University. He's been in the tennis industry since 1984 and has run the pro shop with Rosie and taught at the CRC since 1996. Jeff is married to wife Nancy and has four teenage stepchildren. His hobbies are reading and fishing.

Kathy Gordon: Kathy is from Boardman, Ohio and played tennis for Indiana State University. She's been a Pro at CRC since the fall of 1990. She is currently teaching part-time on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at CRC, and also teaches at Woodland Country Club during the summer. Kathy and husband Jack have three children: Christine, Ali, and Cassidy.

Matt Laramore is from Indianapolis, IN.  He graduated from North Central High School where he was captain of the 2000 high school state champions. At Ball State University, he coached by and was part of three conference championship teams and participated in the NCAA's three out of his four years. His sophomore, junior and senior years he was voted to the MAC second and first teams.  After graduating from Ball State in May 2005 with a degree in Biology/pre-med, he participated in the RCA's and continues to play some tournaments.  The past two summers he has taught at Meridian Hills country club under Ludo Aaron.  Matt started working at CRC in 2005.  Matt enjoys watching the Colts and Pacers play, working out, spending time with friends and family and playing tennis. Matt currently works part-time as a teaching professional at CRC.

Christian Lauri: Christian moved from Ft. Collins, CO to Indiana and began coaching at the CRC in 1998. Christian graduated from DePauw University in 1996. He has a three year-old daughter, Taylor. He is planning on Taylor to be the first female to win the Masters.

Joe Manning: Joe grew up in Center Grove, IN  and played high school tennis at Southport High School.  He continued his tennis career playing college tennis at IUPUI.  Joe played the number one singles position and received the title of Most Valuable Player.  Joe has been working at CRC for 10 years. Joe helps coach several CIWITL teams and is actively involved with the junior programs.   Joe is the assistant tennis pro at Woodland Country Club during the summer.  When Joe isn’t teaching tennis, he enjoys biking, hiking, nature and is a total sports enthusiast.  Joe lives in Carmel and has a son, Drew.

Steve Minner: Steve was born in Richmond, IN. He played college tennis at Purdue University, and has been a tennis professional at CRC since 1996. He continues to compete in USTA events and was the 2004 USTA Men's Clay Court 35 & Over Champion in Doubles with Scott Riggle, the Girls Coach at Depauw University. He enjoys coaching juniors and women of all levels. His CIWITL Ladies Q Team captured the championship during the 2003-4 season.
Mark Noe: Mark graduated from The Herron School of Art with a degree in Art History. He continued his graduate studies at IUPUI in World History and Anthropology. He played college tennis at Wabash Valley College. Mark began work at CRC in 1990. Prior to that he was Head Pro at the Kokomo YMCA and an assistant coach for the Indiana University Women's Program in 86. He was also Head Coach at DePauw University from 92-94 and was voted coach of the year in 93. Currently, Mark teaches World History at Cathedral High School and is their Head Coach for the Men's and Women's Tennis teams. Mark and his wife Renee have three children, twins Ashley and Brittany and Mark II. When he is not on the court or in the classroom he enjoys art and museums with his family.
Mike Raymond: Mike played high school tennis for Carmel High School, and was an All-State Champion in 1985. He played college tennis for Ball State University and was ranked in the top 50 in the nation in doubles. Mike has been at the CRC since May of 2002, and has also been a certified member with the Professional Tennis Registry since 2002.
Marko Saulovic: Marko became a pro at CRC in 2004 after working at West Indy Racquet Club for a year. He was born and grew up in Croatia, where he started playing tennis at the age of eight. In his junior days he played against the world's current top pro tennis players, Croatia's Ivan Ljubicic and Mario Ancic. At the age of 17, Marko came to Indiana as an exchange student (he was part of CRC junior program), and then got a tennis scholarship at the University of Indianapolis (1999-2003) where he graduated with a marketing degree. He holds the record for the most overall wins in the U. of Indianapolis tennis program history (singles, doubles, and overall).   He and his wife Jenny were married in 2004.
Rick Scotten: Rick was born in Plainfield, IN. He attended IUPUI where he went to Nationals at the 5.0 level. He has been at CRC for nine years and is also the Boys and Girls Head Coach at Brebeuf High School. His was recently ranked 3rd in the nation at Tiger Woods Video Golf (online).
Jeff Smart: Jeff is from Indianapolis where is graduated from North Central High School. He played tennis for Ball State University. He now plays in USTA tournaments occasionally. He has been at CRC for 23 years and coaches women's clinics, children's clinics, and teams. He is an avid reader of biographies, philosophy, and mysteries.
Manuel Tuveri: Manuel moved to the Indianapolis area in 2000 after graduating from college with a B.S. in Management. He is the only member of his family not to be living in his home town of Cagliari, Italy on the island of Sardinia. He manages to visit his family back home often and his favorite time to return is Christmas. Manuel works with all levels of tennis at CRC. For six summers, he was the Director of Tennis at the Hawthorns Golf and Country Club. He currently holds a master’s degree in exercise science with a concentration in sports psychology and a second master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He recently finished his Internship at the Indianapolis Community Health/Hospital network. Manuel has also been working on the mental aspect of the game as the club's mental conditioning consultant. If interested in a group or individual session, please contact him directly. His other hobbies include music (he's a big Springsteen fan) and soccer.
Erik West: Erik joined the Carmel Racquet Club staff in August of 2008. He moved here from New York where he was the Head Pro at the Grand Slam Racquet Club in Bedford, NY. He has held several tennis pro positions including Head Tennis Pro at East Pointe Country Club, in Palm Beach, FL. Erik attended Middle Tennessee State university and Hampton University in Hampton, VA. He was a NCAA Division I Conference Champion and a NCAA Division II All American. He has coached Division III college tennis. He has 25 years of tennis experience and 21 years of teaching tennis to various levels and teams. Erik holds several United States Professional Tennis Association teaching certifications.
David Willingham: David is one of four children from Ohio who are all tennis pros. He played tennis for the University of Toledo. He has been teaching at CRC since 1999. He is also currently the Head Girls Tennis Coach at Hamilton Southeastern High School where he earned the Conference Coach of the Year for the 2003-4 season. He is currently working with the Hamilton County Community Tennis Association (HCCTA) with the Summer Program.
