The 2020 USTA/Midwest Section Senior Team Championships will be held May 16-17 at Michigan State University in Lansing, MI. This fun and exciting competition among the districts has these divisions: men’s 35, 45, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80 and women’s 35, 45, 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75. CITA has not received official info for this year’s competition, but historically the tournament has run as described below. CRC will post information when it arrives. Entry deadline is Wednesday, May 6.
Each division will play a full round robin. Each match will consist of one eight game pro-set with a match tiebreak played at 7-all. Each district team will be awarded one point for each game one by all of the doubles teams entered. The district scoring the most points will be declared the winner. Additionally, doubles teams scoring the most points within the age division will receive a division championship award.
All participants must have a USTA membership valid through May 31, 2020.
If more than one doubles team registers for an age division by the deadline, challenge matches will determine which doubles team will represent CITA at this event. Challenge match playoffs TBA.
