SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Thank you Carmel Racquet Club members–Collette Clouse, Lauren Harmon, Jenny Pearson–for making a difference this summer by volunteering with the Champion Reads(R) program at the East Washington Library branch

Twenty-five fourth and fifth graders from the Boner Fitness and Learning Center (community center adjacent to Tech High School that serves three IPS elementary schools)  are reading inspiring chapter biographies and completing educational activities about American athletes who made a difference: Arthur Ashe, James Blake, Jean Driscoll, Billie Jean King, Sam McNew, Gale Sayers, George Taliaferro.

Thank you Indiana Spine Group for purchasing a set of Champion Citizen® books (seven books each) for all the students.

Champion Reads® is a self-contained reading curriculum created by HCCTA founder Helen Petersen.  Champion Citizen® may be purchased in the sports section of the Indianapolis Children’s Museum.
