2009 Tournament Results

Parker Kalis, won a USTA 10U singles "Intro" Tournament at the Indianapolis Racquet Club on Saturday, December 5th. Parker participates in the MW Satellite One Clinics and is also coached by Mike Raymond at the CRC.

in July young athletes from 62 countries gathered in Israel for a week of athletic competition. Sixteen countries were in tennis.

Gabrielle Rubenstein was the only United States athlete to win three medals at the Maccabiah Games.


She won three bronze medals in tennis--singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.

USTA Boys 16-18 National Championships

Austin lost to the #9 ranked boy in the nation.

256 top juniors from the country competed in the tournament
Kalamazoo is the most prestigious boys tournament in the country
Tennis greats like McEnroe, Conors, Chang, Roddick have competed at the Zoo.

 

Carmel Racquet Club's 12-Intermediate summer USA Team Tennis team are
the USTA/Midwest Champions! They won the championship in August by
defeating teams from Il, WI, MI, and OH. They were undefeated in both
regular season and tournament play! Congratulations to these players:

2009 Doc Richards Memorial Tennis Tournament

Money raised for Doc Richards Athletic Scholarship for Heritage Christian High School and Hamilton County Community Tennis Association (HCCTA) College Scholarships.

This April, Carmel Racquet Club teaching pro Tim Brady won the USTA/Midwest Indoors Men's Championships in the men's 45 singles division.

Three other CRC members advanced to the semi-finals in their age divisions: Cliff Gerwick (55), Jan Reed (55) and Dave Resley (65). USTA/Midwest is includes IL, IN, OH, WI, MI, WI and is the second largest section in the United States Tennis Association

CRC Champions in Midwest 12 Boys

Carmel Racquet Club once again hosted the USTA/Midwest Closed Boys 12 Tournament Jan. 31-Feb 2, but this tournament three CRC juniors had top finishes. Jeffrey Chen finished in fourth place, Danny Rayl won the Sportsmanship Award, and Nick Werner was Consolation Finalist. Other CRC players in the tournament were Alex Bertolini and Elliott Shebek.

These players were competing against the top 64 12 & Under boys in the Midwest Section, the second largest section in the United States Tennis Association. Midwest includes IN, OH, IL, MI, WI.

CRC and the players thank these Carmel businesses for their donations: Carrabba’s, Einstein Bros Bagels, Fazoli, Dooley O’Tooles, Majors, Mandarin House, Marsh Grocery, McAllister’s, Noodles & Company, Penn Station Subs, Starbucks Coffee.
